Why aren't devs scared here or am I too much worried?
After having an exp of 1.5yrs, I have talked with a lot of senior colleagues and I rarely found anyone who was hustling for some better roles for a better future ahead. Many are trapped in their comfort zone and chilling with their friends. I am not against something because it's all about someone's interests and priorities. But what if they need to switch or any layoff happens, how will they survive? The competition is too high, the undergrads are developing next level projects and the scarcity of good devs is there, so the ladder of upskilling has no end here. I have lost my peace after seeing some people who switched with just 1yr exp and now are in a great position, and I really wish to be at that position because once I dreamt of all this while being in college. My current financial situation doesn't even let me enjoy my first job here and I literally have no fun anymore in my official life, but upskillng hard and wishing for a change very soon.
(Posting here for the first time, TIA)

If you want to hustle, go ahead and hustle. If someone else want to chill and relax, let them chill and relax. To each his own. Apni apni zindagi. Apni apni marzi
I am here for 10 years and chilling. If they lay me off I can get job. The point I want to make it if you are liking the comfort zone stay where you are but focus on up skilling as your termination is just one call away in pvt sector.

Literally I was also thinking the same. And I have noticed most of people here do nothing, I mean they do little tasks as compared to other product based. Which has made me into my comfort zone and it's very difficult to grind here.
Just don't let it happen to you.
I have noticed I was working much more in college than here.
I really don't want to end up like the same. I want to hustle so that I can become more financially strong, so I am upskilling for my first switch but I'm too doubtful if I am worthy enough or not.

I mean if you are always scared of layoffs and competition, then maybe you should try for a government job??
In private sector, the fear will always be there. Just upskill and live your life, and work towards your goal.
And honestly the biggest lesson I have learnt from my career so far is to network and socialize. No amount of hard work can take you places like a good recommendation from some high profile person.
