Why are they asking us to update emergency contact and permanent address in ultimatix? Is layoff going to happen in tcs?
Tcs jis types ki policies la rahe hai , wo sun ke kohi employee agr office mai hi mar jaye to uske family ko contact krne ke liye.

No I dont think its related to layoffs. They might be planning something else or simply updating their data. They dont need emergency contacts and permanent address to fire people.
It's just a data collection and reference up-to-date in case of any such emergency like war or any other natural calamities. Nothing to panic about.
Actually, in Air India plane crash they found out that non of the passengers have provided their emergency contact. Instead, they just provided their own numbers as emergency contact. Therefore, after crash when the airline wanted to reach out to the passengers emergency number, they were unable to do so. Therefore, they have asked to update correct emergency contact information, instead of just providing any random detail is what I feel.
Tracking and reaching out no show people and confirm if they are alive..if alive fire them.
