Why are Indians so selfish ?
I booked a parcel delivery for a relative - it was a favour they asked, I just helped them out with the app booking and transit. The result ? They didn't pay for it and I had to do so.
This has happened countless times. You help someone out, they decide to exploit you to the core. Got me thinking about the shift in people's attitudes over the years.
Not to mention the core reason for most of India's problems is this narcissistic attitude.
Be it civic sense, corruption, intolerance, language wars, cleanliness - same thing, different scales.
We have never learnt to live in a collective society and just keep thinking out for ourselves. We don't care what happens to a fellow person.
Latest example being the recent children deaths due to contaminated cough syrup in MP. We don't give a f*ck people suffer or die. Bas apni jeb aur apni well being is priority.
My relatives ask me to send medicines, I will send them bills they will just send me back medicine amount the courier charges are mine. And just once I said I was busy I can’t go and boom 💥 the news passed 2 states and then my mom called me to convince.
I have 2 cases for this scenario -
- Is the relative doing way worse than me in life financially?
- Are they actually close relatives?
- if and to both is yes, then I pay with no expectations, unconditionally. Because they are family.
If ans to any of them is no, then I just include delivery charges with the bill, if they are shameless enough to not pay, you should be shameless enough to ask. If they still can't pay they can forget asking anything next time.
Lol just imagine a society where people are afraid and have to think twice before helping each other... And it is true. U try to help, and u get scammed in return.
my rule !! if you expect something in return !! then i dont call my action as help !! i keep that upfront in my life with everyone , i say this on face to people and i let them decide whatever
I don't expect anything in return but I expect not to be exploited and made to do anything more than a favour
India is a concentration camp for sane people and sane behaviour. Here people have turned brutal and completely apathetic towards others that includes environment. That's why here it's so ugly and dirty outside. Otherwise there is no reason for here to be in such sorry state. All waste can be disposed off properly and most of it can be recycled etc. People land here because of bad karma. 2000 was the cut off now it's all crap.
