Why are Activa 4G second hand so over priced?

I noticed something odd in the second-hand market.

Back when Activa 4G was new, the on-road price was around ₹58k.

Today, even though it’s an old BS4 engine (while BS6 is the norm), people are listing them at ₹45k–₹57k.

Logically, after 7–8 years, depreciation + tech shift + upcoming BS4 restrictions should bring the price down to half or less (~₹25k–₹30k).

Yet sellers are asking almost the same as the original price. To me, this looks more like greed + brand hype than fair market value.

Has anyone here actually bought or sold an Activa 4G recently? What’s the real closing price you’ve seen, not just the inflated online listings?

Activa is useless scooter but still a market leader and maybe that allows people to have a command on a 2nd hand selling price as well. If you are looking to buy one then dont.

I am surprised at the prices in the online second hand stores. Almost all are above 45k. How come a person quote such insane over price for second hand if the new itself came at Rs 58k on road.
