Who earns more? Data Engineers or Product Managers?

My friend is a senior data engineer at Aditya Birla Group with 1 year of experience before this role. He claims to earn 18 LPA base.

I'm a Product Manager and my base is around 14. I want to know which role ends up earning more in the longer run?
