Goes to show how desperate Indian people are for solutions in life that they are doling out money to babas and astrologers

But then again, we've always been that kind of a people

Retention and sustainability will be a huge problem if the customers aren't happy with results though. Will be interesting to see the next few years playing out for astrotalk.

Doesn't show anything really. Its a business model and astrology is more mature than so called science.

If it were, people would be crorepatis just by wearing jewels and doing Puja. Any solution that actually works doesn't take very long to reach mass adoption.

Tells a lot about us consumers rather than about the business. Businesses are meant to exploit any gap they see and an opportunity to make money out of it.

Monetising fear and desperation.

Biggest category at Astrotalk is love life, followed by business advise and then health. 70-30 Female to male split.
Fear of some gullible love struck females being monetised.

Maybe they should rely on drinking instead to tower over their miseries. That seems perfectly legit.

Cosmetic companies, coaching industry, and many others monetize fear and desperation. @Blabla_blackshit

I've seen an engineering graduate from NIT, working as astrologer on astrotalk app, they've somehow won credibility of professionally educated crowd.

app is easy to use, they change money according to duration of chat / call, mostly hosts are "hope selling yes men"

sir ye 4 steps krlo, xyz problem resolved ho jaega, but it's atleast comforting to have someone polite and non judgemental talking on otherside.

PS. I used their 5 mins free service, no extensive experience.
