Any manager who shrugs off your overtime or expects you to give update or “take some time out” during your vacation to work on a “deadline” work. Those are the worst of the bunch. They are testing your limits and would make it a norm later on.

Hi bro my manager did the same thing with me on Friday night i was in a movie theatre then he messaged me and requested to work on the Saturday, i agreed because I was not having any special plans, but i don't consider this to be a toxic culture because he is a very sweet guy who appreciates my very small efforts also and also he nominated me for aspiring Star award and also proposed my name for promotion I am getting that promotion in these march cycle today only my lead got the mail for my promotion

From my perspective, you can always avoid irrelevant conversations with your manager thereby sticking on with work and being professional. You should always know your limits and also keep your colleagues at their limit.. Leaving your guard will always cost you. Be professional, have a definite role description when you are into a project, learn required skills for both work as well as your aspiration, have a happy work-life balance. When it is time, Switch!!

keep a keen eye on that persona within you, which made you ask this question, you will find this irrelevant or you will find a temporary answer to satisfy that persona for a short period.
