Critical Medical reason for early release or Client project major dependency serve 3 month notice period

Critical medical reason should win if you are able to reach the right person.

It has been one month since I resigned but only received acknowledgement no acceptance mail. HR is not responding should I wait or approach if yes then where? Please help me on this
