Language doesn't matter in software engineering. Better at problem solving. You have to choose language at run time which suits your needs.

Java and Golang provide two very different ecosystems. Java is a more mature ecosystem and is adopted by more or less every big firm, with lots of tooling proper standards and everything around it. And suffice to say it is here to stay for a long time.

Golang on the other hand is very new(in comparison) and is just getting adopted by many big companies. It, like Rust, Zig and other of its counterparts, focuses on solving niche issues rather than being a general purpose tool (this is the current scenario with all of the languages mentioned). It is good if you have time to explore and want to delve into developer tooling and some pretty neat projects. But not recommended if you want to "thrive" in the industry.
