Trending @Infosys; Which role is best in job level 6B, Project Manager or Technology Architect?

Hello Infocians, currently am in job level 5 as tech lead for the last 3.5 yrs. Looking for promotion via IJP, attended few interviews didn’t work out well for Tech Architect role. Could anyone suggest which job is better at level 6B -Tech Architect or Project Manager? . I want a good suggestion by considering the job security, long term career for the next 15 - 20 years, on-site opportunities and best role change that you believe the better .. Just to take opinions….

For long term stay with technology stream; pick up 1-2 niche streams. Project management work is redundant and it’s dime a dozen in the market. With most projects and programs moving to agile ; it will become more redundant.

IJP works well when you are manager pet or have contacts in jl6. Am in same position stuck in senior consultant for 3.5 years and waiting for an promotion to lead consultant. Even though IJP works for many, it's purily a gimmk by management to promoted their favorites or people who have been long due or failed in onsite transfers.

Both roles have their merits. If you love tech and innovation, go for Technology Architect. If you prefer managing people and projects, choose Project Manager. Both offer job security and growth.
