Nothing is overhyped. My friend has it and he regrets buying it instead of an iPhone 😂 If you're looking for an Android, pixel is a good option

I have a Pixel 6.

Pros:

As usual, the pictures that come out of it are absolutely gorgeous!
Stock Android is beaut.

Cons:

Since Google started using their own chip for pixel, the efficiency of the phone is not great. In other words, the battery is not great. This has been the case across all the phones that use the Tensor chip. (Maybe it might improve with Pixel 8) I do get a full day battery (doing jugaad like keeping my phone on airplane mode and so on)
I've started facing issues with my charging port. It needs to be at a certain angle to charge. This is not a me problem, as there's a pretty popular support page for this exact problem.

Just weigh the pros and cons and get yourself a phone!

Nobody needs them. That's the point. What makes Samsung attractive is they offer 6 and not 6+ inches on a good phone.

iOS because those phones fit in my hand & give a good feel with minimal research, I’m not interested in buying an underrated Pixel 7a and not interested in buying foldables, or gigantic 6.7’ phablets. Also, the ecosystem is a love, my only regret is that lib-imobile support is very nascent for Linux, so I cannot just drag and drop a file like I could in a random Android phone.

Side note: I’ve observed iPhones get better 4G speeds than Android, not really sure if the radio chips used in Apple’s are better or the network is biased towards iPhones.

I used to be a Moto/Nokia fan, as they make good devices and give me stock Android feels. I feel spending >20k on an Android phone or >45k on an iPhone is meaningless. Being on iOS has considerable advantages as I can move my parents on iOS and no scammer can get them to install an APK to scam them. I can also get them to FaceTime me and share their screens to solve quick doubts without sending a meeting link.
