Bain & EY both are consulting firms. You have to see where the work pressure is less. Depends on projects as well

Can you please help me with how and where I can check these things?

Bain I think. Culture and benefits are better

Only time you should be confused about an offer from Bain is if you get an offer from BCG.

Do you suggest to ask bain to match the EY compensation?

Yes, absolutely. If they do it great, if they don't, they don't. MBB appraisals are pretty fair and consistent. It will open so many doors for you. Your exit will also be quite satisfactory if you end up staying for a few years.

Why?

Considering you will switch again, I would highly suggest Bain, any noob can get into EY, Bain tag is more than enough for your next big switch.

General perception is that EY has more work pressure. Bain is bigger brand. But at this experience level i suggest you go for high salary as you probably don't have family responsibility. Try to negotiate with Bain if they can match EY.

Bain obviously. Reason being

  1. You would be able to easily switch from Bain to EY anytime after 2-3 yrs, considering u want to switch. You would easily get much higher pay at that point in time but will you be able to manage the other way round. Just think.
  2. Work will be similar at both the orgs, may be even better in Bain than EY as others have already pointed out.
  3. Currently you are moving from IBM (Tech) to Bain/EY (Consulting tech firms not pure tech firms). Once you join EY then moving to Bain might not be easy considering the learning curve at EY.

Bhai dekh, shanti toh kahi se bhi Milne se rahi. So if you are not more than 30-35 of age, select the one which is offering more. You won't be doing this shit for long, so make hay while the sum shines!
