Okay, have a seat. This is going to be bit long.

THERE IS NO BEST BIKE. Any bike can be a best bike if it suits your purpose.

Normal city usage - Any decent commuter with good mileage, like the Honda CB Hornet, Bajaj Pulsar City + occasional highway rides - A mid capacity engine with good torque, like the Honda CB350 or the RE Classic Need for speed and occasional track day fun - Faired sports or Super sports, KTMs, high capacity Hondas Offroad & trails - You need an ADV. KTM AdV, RE Himalayan, Xpulse. Long distance touring - Lots of torque and comfort. kawasaki versys 650, RE 650s, Triumph Tiger etc

There’s a different best bike for every need. What are your needs? For me, my Interceptor 650 does the job beautifully. For you, it may not. I don’t like the balls to the wall throttle twist action KTM brings to the table, it may work for someone else.

So yeah, it depends, a lot.

They’ve really turned it around these past couple of years. They seem to be on a good track and have good, decent bikes.

Not true, I just got my second service for RE Hunter, it costed a mere 400 Rs (First service was around 1k) Plus biggest advantage being wider service network, even tier 3 cities have authorised service centres, plus REs are generally simple enough so that local mechanics can fix minor issues.

If you can stretch the budget …. Any of the 650 twins from RE… best value:price ratio

Wait for the new Himalayan or go for speed 400 or 400x the old Himalayan is ok, lacks crazy on brakes, top speed, too heavy (uneven weight distribution)
