Direct if you have the capability to get 15% XIRR. Regular if one searches for "Best equity fund in India" on Google or asks what funds his/her colleague invested in. My XIRR is 18% BTW.

Taxation, helps in avoid taxes or optimize for tax.

Diversifaction to hedge. The Diversifaction helped me get consistent growth of 11-12% while hedging

Tension free as I don't need to monitor the markets and decide.
