Which LLM can help to answer system design questions better?
I'm trying to understand desining high scale systems, but on asking ChatGpt / Gemini I don't get the appropriate answer, they can only answer the approaches for small scale, but when trying to think of higher scale they can't answer it correctly.

Try with better prompts, at least it worked for me when i asked it to give me solutions for prod env & room for scaling the infra & components. Also u can try claude
Exactly, customize your chatgpt and formualting better prompt will definitely help. Especially with GPT5, the response are of expert level.
Maybe try this, first dump all your requirements in 1 chat. Tell gpt to ask you questions so that it can formulate a efficient prompt for you that covers yoir whole problem statement. Then just copy paste the prompt into new chat or other genai chatbots
