Which is better to learn - DevOps or Data Engineering?

I joined in October 2024 but still haven’t been assigned to any project. I’m planning to learn and switch and want to ask:

Which is better to learn — Data Engineering or DevOps, in keeping view of these below 2 points ?

1. Is switching at this stage a good idea?

2. ⁠Which one offers better growth and pay in the future?
