Trending @Accenture; Which is better to learn - DevOps or Data Engineering?

Hi everyone,

I joined in October 2024 but still haven’t been assigned to any project. I’m planning to learn and switch and want to ask:

Which is better to learn — Data Engineering or DevOps, in keeping view of these below 2 points ?

Is switching at this stage a good idea?
⁠Which one offers better growth and pay in the future?

Your experience might help me a lot. Please drop your views.

Thanks you for the reply, I also have other doubt that - Is DevOps going to die further in future ?

Everything we think in IT is going to diez but devops will take time. Like QA will die soon, Dev will be reduced a lot, devops isn't automised to that extent yet so it'll take time

Data engineering is better, data will only increase, whereas devops is more difficult, hectic and jobs are less

And switching at this stage not a good idea market is really bad. Upskill for 6 months and switch in Feb next year. With Trumps tarrifs etc there is a possibility job roles will only reduce this year
