Only Elon musk type of people or loner people will take impactful job
Most people just want peace of mind because they are so many things going on in life when you cross 30
Marriage, kids, older parents even your health start to deteriorate and for the company you are just a worker nothing else

makes sense, but there should be at least one company in life where you do impactful work which makes people's life easier on ground level, some idea which you relate with

Define 'impactful' work.

Word.

Heck, I'm ready to work my ass off provided I'm genuinely valued by like minded colleagues and not treated as simply a comodity

Yup, definitely. It would also depend on my age/phase in life. Currently I'm still new to the corporate world so need to do some good impactful work to learn as much as I can. After biwi bachche I'll look for a WLB wali job with decent pay.

My belief is that the impactful work done in early age will help me strengthen my chances later for a balanced job

Depends on individuals. In my view, WLB comes into picture post marriage, kids, parents getting old and are to be taken care off. Till these things/events are at bay, ppl can stretch and work.

But aren't there any experiences to be had in your personal life before marriage? Assuming the worst case, you'll be robbed of the urbane experiences that one should and could experience before marriage.

But your body might not the same in 20s as in your 30s. There's no glory being a hunchbacked, asocial person in a nuclear family who is sitting on a pile of cash burning for medicines and with no anecdotes to offer

You are missing that balanced option

Depends on your priorities in your life. It's easy to sacrifice time when you're early in your career for growth. Given that, the compensation (minus any paper money) should be more if you're sacrificing your time.

Impactful work is present everywhere, it's tough to identify it when you look at it as an outside observer. It will depend upon your tenacity and your work ethics. The reward of good work is always more work, so if you perform anywhere and play it a little smartly, you can create impact anywhere.

When I’m alone, I’ve worked in company1. I work in conpany2 now. Once I get married I’ll switch to company1 for a brief moment if my spouse is okay.
