Which browser do you use?

My Macbook Air has started to suffer quite a bit under the harsh processing requirements of Google Chrome. I doubt I'll ever be able to move off of Chrome, but did somebody ever successfully make the transition and Quit Chrome?

The feature I love on Edge is the tab sleep.

You can do that in Chrome also. Just use ublock

Exactly same happening with my Air. It was not like this earlier. Safari is consuming the same at this point.

Hmmm - maybe a factory reset can save it. What's up with Chrome man, how can it be that heavy.

Switched to firefox 2 years back. Everything else is either chrome or chromium based.

How has your experience been? What do you like about it?

Not OP, I switched from Chrome to Firefox about 8 years back. Apart from MS Teams calls, everything else works seamlessly. And I love FF Containers. It's far superior to Chrome profiles. I see rare crashes but I think it happens with Chrome too.

I honestly don't know why anyone uses Chrome. I guess it's mostly familiarity and difficult to build muscle to something different.

Brave browser and Arc are my new favourites. Although I have other browsers installed . I always end up using these

Based on my recent experience, I would say Arc is really good and has been quite smooth. But fair bit of warning I did hear that some did have issues with Macbook Air.

Apart from that, I have been using Brave and Firefox interchangeably for a long time and it has been pretty good combo. You get most of what you think you would miss from chrome in Brave and Firefox was something that I always kept around and especially useful for dev stuff.

You mentioned opera and arc and forgot edge and brave🤣🤣.

For YouTube - brave (no ads)(My YouTube usage is quite high) All other - edge/chrome

Chrome sucks the life out of my MacBook Air.

For lightweight (and temp) usage i use duckduckgo. For dev related and heavy usage stuff I use Brave
