Whether to call the CTO or not?

Right now I’m in a limbo.

I have the contact number of a CTO of a well known startup I used to work with prior to swiggy. I’m looking for jobs right now, and I’m considering of interviewing again for the same company.

The dilemma is that whether I should put a message to the CTO or not on WhatsApp? He reached out to me around 1.5 yrs back to ask if I’m willing to come back and I said very politely that I am not looking for a switch right now and happy where I’m currently.

Why the dilemma? I’m just nervous and thinking that what if I do this and the offer they give me isn’t upto my expectation and I might need to reject it (obviously I’m being optimistic here but really want to know the opinion if I should go ahead or not.)

Call yes, but if you get the offer don’t reject
Don’t call
Call yes and doesn’t matter if you accept or reject
If any other opinion, please feel free to comment

Unless you ask, the answer is always ‘no’

Bro don't worry like us companies also get many rejections in business they also know if they are not going to pay the actual potential salary a potential employee deserves then definitely employee will leave the company and in this way a time will come when there will be no employee in the company if no employee no profit and this can never happen companies will not think of profit. So be calm and if possible try to do negotiation they will accept it

Thanks for this.

I don’t think you need to worry about potentially rejecting it in case of a subpar offer.

If it does happen, you can reach out to him again to express your gratitude and politely explain your reasons for not choosing to go ahead with them. People learn to not take things too personally as they work (I hope :P)

If he have become a CTO that means he is much experienced and seen it all. He will understand, approach him. He must be a trainer leader. Petty things won't matter
