Where should I start for switch?

Study first or apply first

So as an electrical engineer working in software development (SAP UI5), I'm little lost in the wild about what to study is ui5 still relevant because i developed only a simgle object in the last year that to of low complexity. I'm still on the project because SAP still need fiori configurations to see tiles. So basically I'm doing configurations only and not actual development. Paywise its good i say around 11 but 11th 12th frnds who choose IT as engineering stream earning more did multiple switches and here I'm just thinking and procrastinating about switching company and get something good to work on and not just sitting on my desk randomly studying anything that comes to my mind or feed.
