Where are we going ??

Other countries are imposing for better work life balance by introducing 4 days workweek and other perks. But here in India, you are a kind of slave.

if am not wrong, Wipro and Infy had introduced 9 .30hrs a long time back. i think it was Wipro that mandared "9hrs in office", meaning, if you step out for lunch, tea breaks, it will not be counted.

Wipro people in GV please confirm.

It's not like that but yeah if you are a working on support project your life is hell, they will ask you to complete everything within 40 or 50 mins and if you are in development and you get some time left for yourself then they are asking to take an interview of candidates in free time, now these companies are same as startup companies, they will use you like a slave.

I was with Wipro in 2018, working on a banking project. The workday involved 9 hours in the ODC (Offshore Development Center), excluding time for lunch, commuting, restroom, and tea or smoke breaks.

At HCL, the experience was quite stressful. They actively tracked laptop usage, and the system required more than 6 hours of active input. This tracking did not count time spent in meetings, reading emails in Outlook, or conducting research on Google.

Treating Indians like slaves. Because this country accepts all the wrong things and kicks out all the good.

100% better option, if they make from 5 to 4 working days.

What if they make 6 day working?

I believe Infy had this systems where you have to clock in 9.15 hours avg/quarter, but that is your time on campus, so it included your lunch break too. What is the scene here? Surely they can’t mean to actually work 10 hours/day. That would mean your avg work day, excluding travel, would be a minimum of 11hours, thereby exceeding the 40 hours/week clause. That’s really concerning and interesting.

We have 10 days in months for some units and on a project basis also it would be around 3 days per week or 2 days per week.

And the number of hours mandatory are 4 hours and rest hours u can work from home as well then u need to apply on duty so it will be calculated as wfo only.

I mean, literally, people are capable of getting the work done provided you trust them, don’t micromanage a lot and give a little nudge to skill up wherever required.
Why does the Indian leadership not get it? What will they obtain out of this other than attrition? Cheap labour does not imply pressuring them.

Colonial hangover I guess. We are always poised to serve and obey. I have seen small scale industries beating labourers for mistakes.

This is surprising for me too. Never seen people raise this in forums. Whoever raises this becomes the villain.
