GDP is up, unemployment is down, consumption seems stable.

Till now, it's only looked like a recession for tech.

There is no recession in India. Educated people should stop believing West is the world. Tech layoffs are due to dollar supplies getting strangled. Dollar is ceasing to be reserve currency of the world. So, any revenue and funding streams in tech will have to shift slowly outside of the West to sustain themselves long term. All those planning to migrate are like planning for digging their own graves in a few years to come.

Lots of generalised thoughts.
Firstly slowdown in India is same as recession in west. As our demographic and population demand way higher job creation
Secondly, tech layoff has less to do with currency fluctuations ( unless export business i.e IT services export) and more to do with capital and returns investors are seeking (sovereign funds, pension funds, VC, Banks) which is directly impacted by exchange rates.

That's a naive understanding. Tech layoffs happened due to free money drying up in the US for VCs on account of rising interest rates. This was a consequence of arbitrary quantitative easing resulting in inflation. No one said here it's due to currency fluctuations. You will have to read up a lot on macroeconomics, debt and geopolitics to understand my informed conclusions.

hasn’t even started yet to end. Please check their monthly unemployment numbers, number of job openings and GDP growth, all are in the positive direction

All major economies are linked with the US economy no matter what they say, all major trade agreements are signed in a way to benefit the west. If the US goes into a recession we all will feel its impact. Some sectors in India will face a recession instantly and some with a lag of a few months.

Geo political turmoil ending + Financial crisis ending (3-6 months) + Health/Environmental crisis (<3 months) + supply chain crisis (~6 months min).

So war ends + 12-18 months 🙃🫣🥲
