When they get it super wrong.. never care to correct it..

A friend gets into a meeting with his founder Founder: "I'm really sorry. This will be your last week. I took time to communicate this properly to you" Friend: You took time for yourself. Not for me. There's a difference.

One sentence. The harshest reality check.

And in that moment, I hope founder realized .. he never actually prepared for this conversation. He only prepared to walk away from it with a clear conscience.

This is what most layoffs look like. The founder thinks about his own pain. His guilt. His emotional burden. Sleepless nights. Stress. The weight of making tough calls. And then, when the moment comes… it's still a 10-minute conversation Because deep down, it was never about softening the fall for the other person It was about getting it over with

"I took time to communicate this properly".. Hell! No You took time to make yourself feel better about what you had to do.

Because if you actually took time for him - You would have given him a heads-up, instead of blindsiding him You would have helped him land somewhere before making this call You would have done more than just apologize and move on

But you didn't..

Because pain is never shared

The one who pulls the trigger moves on. The one who takes the bullet lives with it.
