When Office Mandates Meet Road Risks — And Unexpected Kindness Steps In

Today was more than just a workday — it was a journey filled with challenges, risks, and rare moments of humanity.

On my way to the office, I saw an elderly man with a flat tire slip on a muddy patch. His bike brushed against mine, and he fell. Thankfully, no one was hurt. What touched me most — a stranger stopped and took his bike to the nearest puncture shop. A powerful reminder that kindness still exists.

After work, just 2 km into my return, my own bike broke down — at the exact same spot. No tools, no repair shop, no help. I started pushing the bike, already exhausted.

That’s when another stranger pulled over and offered to help. He pushed my bike with his for nearly 5 km until we reached a workshop. No expectation — just a smile and a helping hand.

I finally reached home around 10 PM — drained, but deeply moved.

🛣️ A reflection: With work-from-office now mandatory, who's truly benefiting? I worked 7 hours today (vs. 9+ from home) — and added hours of travel, risk, and mental fatigue. Productivity can be measured. Human cost cannot.
