Trending @HCL; When 5 Years of Work Is Valued at ₹1 Lakh in HCL

I want to share my experience with HCL so others can make informed decisions.

I worked at HCL for 5 years. During this time, I did not see much growth—neither in terms of salary nor career development. It often felt like once HCL received money from the client, there was very little concern about employee growth or fair compensation.

Recently, I received a new job offer. My client requested HCL to match the offer, but there was no real attempt to do so. HR informed me that they could only offer a ₹1 lakh increase as a match. This was extremely shocking and disappointing after spending five years giving my best.

At that moment, it felt like my five years of effort had zero value in the organization—even when the client was willing to support the match.

This has been my personal experience. Please think carefully before choosing HCL as your next company.

When I hear people spent more than 2 years it's hard to believe. I joined HCL in 2025 and within 8 months I had to leave from toxic client and on bench I just got 30 days to find opportunity or leave that too in December period. Due to less time I again had to settle for similar company like HCL.

There are multiple factors sometimes . product companies are very stringent now a days . I continued with HCL because it was WFH for last 3 years . I joined HCL at 5.6 years with 21 LPA but there has been no growth in terms of salary

Wow WFH project it's good for you I wouldn't have bothered about salary in your situation. Better to stay if everywhere is alright.

Buddy, move on. You already spent enough time in one company, if you are getting good offer outside, just move out simply

They see everyone as a small component in the bigger picture..smaller components are easily replaceable with a similar kind of resource

I feel stuck after joining HCL. In the last three years, I have worked on three different projects with the same salary and no recognition. Despite no client escalations, I haven’t received even a single R&R. With six years of experience and a CTC of 4.5 LPA, this is very frustrating.

Guys, I just wanted to share my experience. If anyone is expecting HCL to match a nearby offer, please be aware that even with strong client pressure, they usually don’t do it. In my case, they offered only a 10% match.

I have already resigned and accepted an offer from a new company. I stayed with HCL for almost 5 years, and my client was very supportive, which is why I checked once if HCL could match the offer. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out.
