Whats your take?

Funny how founders bend over backwards to build trust with:

  • Investors they meet twice a year
  • Customers who'll churn in 30 days But don't do jack to build trust with employees who burn 300 nights for them

You'll do 20 Zooms to raise a $2M round, arrive 15 minutes before time, wait there patiently without complaining but won't do 1:1s with your people You'll do the investor calls with 20-slide decks, but your own team finds out about layoffs from Slack You'll share your cap table with a stranger with a +1 country code, but won't share your roadmap with the team that built it You'll show up with conviction in board meetings, but show up with confusion in 1:1s You'll trust someone who gives you capital, but not the people giving you their life's prime years

The way I see it.. If you're building a company, build trust inward before you pitch outward.
