What's your poison?
I believe a lot of us are stuck in solving uninteresting problems, creating CRUD apis, changing the color of a button, pressing a button on AWS to "scale" the application. Although these things can be interesting from time to time, This wasn't how i envisioned the engineering to be.
Given the chance at it, would you want to pick a different challenge ? Solve some different problems, something a little more interesting, make something which excites you.
I'll go first, I was excited by game engines back then. There was this youtuber "TheCherno", he had started working on this game engine and i was there thinking I'll be doing it someday. The simulation of real world physics, Implementing Newton's laws using a keyboard like you're the creator, seemed exciting. Another interest I've picked up recently is neural networks, the maths behind it. How they even came up with some of it is beyond me. Trying to figure out my way in the field.
