1 TB each is a good deal, btw how's one drive compared to google photos for ease of use?

I have been using it for the past 1.5 years, its the same as the Google photos app. In fact you can access files and photos in a single app. If you want to give it a try you can use the free version and then if you like it you can purchase it.
With one drive subscription you will get lots of other benefits as well.

I believe Google cloud has data privacy options even though not as strict as iCloud
