What's up with PayPal (and hiring team)?

I'm finding it difficult to understand the situation. A friend, who is a BI developer, was laid off by PayPal, and on the same day, my wife received a call from them for the same role.

Next: The hiring manager is pressuring her to complete all interview rounds (4) within 2 days, even making remarks about her inability and calling her unprofessional and showing lack of interest for not completing assignments on weekdays.
