Trending @Cognizant; What's the scenario for M to SM level promotion in Cognizant now?

There is no roadmap, only excuses. My manager got promoted in last quarter, then put down his papers. Cracked couple of interviews then negotiated with his manager probably using influence from client and was called back to Cognizant after his notice period was over. He got promoted from M to SM. Now when I ask about my promotion the answer is that no one is getting promoted now a days. Interestingly he has spent less time than me in Cognizant. Harsh reality.
