Apprenticeship was something made before universities were a thing. It would be 1-4 years
Like if you wanted to be an engineer in aviation or car space, you'll have to join rolls Royce directly after school.
They'll take the ownership of training and it'll be hands on.
This is also the case with more practical skills, like carpentry, electrician etc.
I actually prefer this tbh. Anyone from 70s-90s would know this more.
Internships are more common maybe due to rise of colleges, it is shorter like 3 months to 1 year. Some can be done during college, and after college.
