What's the absolute worst financial advice our parents drilled into our heads? 💸

Yell Eye See policy

Haha yes! The classic LIC policy. Every Indian parent's favorite "investment" plan.

We can call it a scam but to all young brains who flushed their earnings without savings and living salary to salary, LIC investment is far better than that.

Biggest one for me: 'Never take loans, debt is bad.' So I avoided credit cards, never built a credit history, and when I actually needed a loan for something important, I had zero score. Turns out, strategic debt (low-interest, for appreciating assets) is literally how wealth is built. Avoiding it entirely just kept me financially invisible.

What did the zero score result in? Loan rejection? What sort of a loan was it? Did no private lender offer either?

To help relatives when in need. Just wanna say never ever help anyone if need isn't verified. And definitely not if you can't afford to.

Forever grateful that my parents are financially literate and never drilled any disastrous advice.
