What's one thing you wish you knew when you first started your career?

Be vocal about the work you do and your achievements.
No one will remember your hard work (more esp during appraisal time)
Even you won't, the imposter catches up pretty fast. It is usual to think I did what my job description said, that's bare minimum. All instances you went above and beyond, all those need to be talked about, though not as a snob

I think this is such an important point to note, additionally, what I do is I have prepared an excel which I send to my manager every month which contains all the work that I do throughout the month so that he has an idea, and also there is no credit stealing by other colleagues.

Don’t get attached to your teammates/projects because eventually you need to switch to another job due to better learning opportunities and compensation.
It’s tough to work without attachments but attached in limit so that whenever requires detach and move on.

Very crucial especially when you are placed straight out of college.

You can give all of yourself at work but if you don't take the credit, a good for nothing MBA will try to take that credit.
