What's motive someone to work so hard for future?
Why is someone working so hard? Because as per my opinion, in the last all options gives you happiness. If the end motive is happiness then is it worth to sacrifice today's smiles. I think no because I live in present and believe that if I am happy in present then my future will also be full of happiness. In short dont worry much. Be happy

It can be any of the above options, based on the person's values, which are shaped by experiences and upbringing. One thing is if there is no goal for what you want from life, there is no motivation to wake up and work.

I believe it is an individual choice. Someone might know why they are doing this. And some people might be doing because of borrowed beliefs from society and peers.
Eg: My friend is earning 50lpa, i should also get it. And for someone it might be: i love solving complex problems, everything else is byproduct .
Most people don't know what makes them happy. They think that particular person seems happy maybe if i also do everything he has done, i will be happy too......
What is your definition of happiness? My understanding is for each one of us its different and at the end of day we do what we do either cos it makes us happy or it seems to some they don't have a choice...
Happiness is happiness. There are many ways of achieving it but emotion is the same
