What's ideal salary one should earn before deciding to get married?

2cr. 1cr to pay the rent in Bangalore as per grapevine. 1cr to make sure you can eat out weekends again as per grapevine.

10 crore 5 crore will go for paying alimony post divorce and 5 cr for living retired life as the traumas accumulated during course of trial wont leave able to work again in full capacity.

If money is the criteria to get married, then nothing is enough.

Family support and the individual qualification/work area is what's important.

@BiryaniEnthu u should have atleast 60% amount spare after all expenses covered from your take home amount, thats the thumb rule. Again, thats my personal opinion on this, one might agree or disagree .

If we don't consider the life partner as earning (or we think they won't be able to contribute), then also it will hugely depend on the city, the way of life you aspire for, family responsibilities, etc.

What's your benchmark tho ? What numbers you got in mind ?

I suppose 20L combined would be a good start hoping you're not easily swayed by the FOMO culture and are wise with money. Even 5CR isn't enough if you're not smart with how you spend.
