Do you mean non-CS/IT but from other stream of engineering or equivalent course?

Or completely from a non-technical background?

Or both?

BS. There are a limited number of resources (or promotions), and if you're not going to fight for them physically, you have to settle things through diplomacy (or corporate politics).

Only a person working in a company growing super fast does not need corporate politics, but the rest of us working in companies with secular, slow growth need politics, or visibility to grow.

I would eliminate the following things: 3 month notice period because as an employee, flexibility is preferred, the requirement to show my offer letter to an HR when applying for a job, because I want to paid for my skills that I invested time, money, effort in and what I bring to the table, and I dont want to paid incrementally to what I was paid in my last job. Lastly, I'd eliminate the school-type culture followed everywhere in India. Like for example, the manager is always right, you have to address them as sir, reach to office on an arbitrarily fixed time if you don't need to, keeping hair, nails and clothes groomed, etc.

If I had to pick one thing, it would definitely be the HR previous role offer letter requirement when hiring for any position.
