What would a €65,000 salary in Munich be equivalent to in Bangalore?
Hi folks, I’m trying to compare the cost of living and lifestyle between Munich and Bangalore. If someone earns around €65,000 gross annually in Munich (with taxes), what would be the equivalent salary in Bangalore to maintain a similar standard of living?
Considering factors like rent, healthcare, groceries, social life, taxes, etc. Would ₹X per year (in INR) give a comparable quality of life?
Any insights or rough conversions would be super helpful—especially from people who’ve lived in both places or made the move themselves.
Thanks in advance!
Don't use PPP calculators to figure this out as there is sometimes incorrect data entered into them. Do it yourself by looking at your own costs and comparing to the cost there to derive your numbers. Also don't forget that rental costs have zoomed in the last 3 years due to the war so energy and utility bills are included in your rent

Minus income tax,
Minus rent,
Minus transportation,
Minus utilities,
Minus food and grocery,
Minus shopping.
Are you left with even 2k-3k per month ?
if not, then what is the point of moving internationally and becoming lower middle class.

Literal translation doesn't help. Cost of living is much higher.
A lifestyle of 60Lpa in India would be much better than 65k euro in Germany.

€65,000 gives roughly 6,088,355 INR today... And this is very decent income if you are Indian
