What will happen if I fake my current offers?

I have a offer from one company. The salary they offered wasn't much although more than what I get paid in my current job. So was wondering what if I fudge the numbers to make it look higher just to negotiate with another company? P.S - Is it necessary to share my current job offer with another company? Won't it be illegal.

I would say do it. Do whatever to have money you deserve. In case you require some help, in changing the numbers please do reach out. I have Adobe Pro where I can edit Pdf or there are a lot of online tools as well.

If caught, it would hamper your carrier. If not caught, you will always remain under fear. Decide.

How would they know? They are technically breaching all sorts of labour laws by asking for the offer letter in the first place

There is a thing known as Background check which every large company does Just FYI

BGV doesn’t cover offers from other companies. Because the fact that they ask for the offer from other company is itself illegal.

SquishyNarwhal

That doesn't cover it. These are done by third party companies that doesn't really give a fuck

Why put entire career at stake for 4-5 lakhs? Short term vs long term gain. Basics of stock market, i think same with everything in life. If you get flagged, for whatsoever reason, its gonna be a disaster .

Opinion is mine, and mine only.

You'll have to share salary slips of current company with the new one.

New one can get Background verification done, You'll need to submit documents then as well

Yes, I have no issues with BGV or current salary slips. Just worried about fudging the CTC number of another company just to help it in increasing my current offer.

Many such cases have happened in past. Infact in my company a fella joined and couldn’t clear BGV coz he showed fake counter offers. In my company you have to submit all offers you have on the portal.

I know its a breach of labor law, but cant do much.

Hope that helps

The records are available online at PF portal and itax returns (form16), hence you can't bluff... secondly they may ask bank statement n all to verify if they have any doubt, so never do this. There is process of BGV (Background verification( if cought, your entire career have a black spot

Never share your CTC. Many recruiters are ready to strip down so that they can hire you at the cheapest possible scale. Some of them look like honest and innocent ones, but those are the absolute elite snakes. So, no matter what, just tell them you can't share because it's under NDA and just throw in another statement asking if they would be comfortable if you shared things about their company to other companies when they ask the same questions.
