What was your biggest “I NEED TO QUIT” moment at work?
Literally zero growth. I was getting paid for not working. That too in the literal beginning of my career
This is the dream job for me.
Agree. In my first company I asked a senior (12yrs) saying ‘Right now I can’t even crack a single interview cause of the demand they will have and what I’ve done in the past years’
Eye opener.
Saddist founders, ensuring you always feel under-prepared with illogical questions and always ready to make a nuisance.
One of them said - “Masal do, ya to kaam Nikal Jayega ya banda” [Squeeze them, either they’ll do work or leave]
The other one said - “bonus yahi he, no ESOP/RSU. Lena he to bolo or else I’ll take this paper back”
And then There were Many -
- Thinks writing codes is the ultimate orgasm in corporate world and any other type of work get no value.
- Huge politics and favourism for people joined early.
- Zero respect for an MBA person (the entire company is made of Engineers who quit Mu Sigma)
- Negative professionalism.
- No Hike discussion, you get a surprise with your salary and you wait for days to see your salary statement to calculate your hike %.
- Freshers masquerading as ‘SMEs’ and you need to “OWN” deliver.
Maybe I’ll list others some other day.
This was during my first job. A senior who didn't knew even the fundamentals right got 3x more on their switch. This was the motivation I needed.

Bosses text: are you already here? (Bengaluru cafe where we meet for work)
Me: no still at home, why?
Them: are you sure? We can see a personal hotspot with your name in this cafe in range
Me: well, i am not lying. I am home. My name is quite common in both north and south india
Them: yes but this wifi has the same spelling that you use
Me: ….ok? So?
Them: so you are sure? You’re not here?
This was one in a long list of stupid things they did but this one just took the cake 😂

It's a combination of all these things. But what sucks is the complete direction-less and face less feel at work
