Express them you want to become engineering manager one day and looking for future in that one. Ultimately they will promote you to manager then replace the current one. I didnt replace current one but i got promoted to Engineering manager once I expressed that to CTO and currently handling 70% of engineering team and rest 30% is handled by my ex manager

If you are in early stages of your career, 90% of your success is dependent on whether you are able to look upto your manager for his intelligence, and empathy. Whether he/she is able to make you feel good about you while pushing you to get the best out of you. Solve for finding a good manager - even if it means looking for a new role. Can’t stress enough how it will impact your years to come.
Below are some things that may or may not be possible
change your manager or company, you cant make incompetent people competent easily.
You will be on your own bcz u know you cant trust that person He/She will make sure that they get all the credit for pushing the team to do the work Nobody else will be recognised, everyone know its the manager who is running this team He will most probably be an asslicker and a puppet to the mgmt so yours concerns will not be addressed.
Only good part is you will know what not to do when you become a manager !
Having an incompetent manager has no benefits. They will not have your back, so you'll get the shorted during appraisal/promotions. They take all the credit cause that's how they have managed to get so far. And when you confront them about them taking credit, they play dumb.
