What time do Bangaloreans leave from the office?

I have always worked in NCR or remote. I'm talking with a startup based in Bangalore for a switch. The founder had invited me to spend a day with team, get to know the work and culture. As luck would have it, I had an work event at Bangalore, so took the opportunity to visit them.

Work is great, culture is good as well - lot of fun jokes food getting shared while work gets finished. The team made me feel at comfort.

Between chatting with (future) colleague, I look up watch and its 7.40 pm. And my Delhi woman alarm goes 🚨 🚨 anxiety of if I leave now, when do I reach hotel, will I get an auto/cab, how will people be on the road, is it safe, are there street lights???

I usually left office in Gurgaon by 6.30 pm, especially in winters it gets dark early. Also the safety concern has office structured like that.

But their team was usual, unaffected. Seemed weird to me. Is it a norm? Will I have to get used to it if I accept their offer?

Bangalore is safer compared to NCR. Usually companies don’t ask female employees to stay beyond 7:30 PM. If they are staying, they provide transportation back to home. Considering you joined start up, I don’t think they will have such arrangements so you can plan so that you reach home by 8:30-9PM. Lot of people leave late to avoid traffic. Welcome to Bangalore.

Is this end near for BLR?

It's crazy how this native-non native issue persists immensely in Bangalore. No other developed city like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Pune has this.

Bangalore is going down big time with so much rising hate in the city.
