What should I do

Facing this dilemma not sure which one is better. Wondering if other folks here also faced this issue and if they have any regrets.

I am quite advanced in my career that an Indian MBA is not going to help me in increasing my salary. Startup it’s subjective but I’m quite confident on the potential and I have good ESOPs.

Bhai/behen itna kuch dekh kar bhi startups ko secure samjh rahe ho aap? If you can afford to do it, go for an MBA from Tier 1/Ivy. Waise he 60-70 tak naukri karni hai mostly sabko and resume par jitne strong signals hain utna better

60/70 means 60-70 years of age

Mai aapki bhavnao samajh rha hu lekin there will always be good startups irrespective of the market situation. Eg. space tech startups in India are doing really well, I’m not in space tech.

I won’t go into details much but I’m not worried about the startup in terms of going down, just the type of work I’m doing is very niche and I have multiple standing job offers. The only thing unsure of how much upside potential with the startup and growth here will be a lot more than any tier I mba. If that makes sense.

I’m leaning against mba because I can do that later also but this opportunity may not come at worst I will delay my mba by a year or two.

Here’s what happens:

If the startup ends up being a unicorn, that position will be a lot more lucrative both financially, careerwise and otherwise.

But that IF has an probability, and the probability is what when taken into account, makes the MBA which has a fixed ROI, a better option.

Basically, you’ll have a 80% chance of making 1 Cr post the MBA, and a 10% chance of making 2 Cr with the startup apart from ESOPs worth millions with some liquidity worth 4-5Cr after 2 years from today.

These are the options

M7 is anyday better than a non-founder role in a startup.

I’m not sure even if I do an MBA I’ll start at the bottom of the corporate pyramid a much fancier pyramid with a lot of scope for growth over 5-10 years and more.

At the startup I lead a department and I’m relatively young for that and that has also created many opportunities.

Was in a similar situation. I have decided to go for specific subject matter expertise courses (getting into depth) than go for breadth based courses like MBAs.

I can go in a couple of years also I’m not that old <5 yoe

Depends. Do you want to stay in India or abroad? Are you taking a loan for the tuition? What is your current pay here?
