What should be the right wage for a part time tech consultant in the semiconductor domain?

I have an interest from a party to advise them on a semiconductor project they are exploring. I intend to associate with them as part time consultant.

Can you guys suggest what is the right market rate for such services? Is it charged on a per hour basis or monthly basis?
