What should be the expected salary (near by) of a Product Manager professional with 15 years of experience
Because you are talking in lakhs so I would assume your work ex has predominantly been in India. Buddy 15 years ago there was no product manager title in India,there used to be delivery managers and project managers.Unless you are coming from Silicon valley,then it's a different story. So you will be really grilled upon this question, be prepared!
Secondly as someone already pointed out when it comes to Product management at strategic level,it would be more about how much impact and value you created for your organization and your customers.
Lastly gone are those days when your salary was a function of number of experience,it used to be the thing for companies like infy, Accenture,TCS,tech Mahindra,Wipro(service based companies).Things work little differently in 2023 where there are multitude of parameters based upon which your final compensation will be decided.
Yes, exp in India only. Back then also we had position like Product Manager but in product based companies only e.g Times Internet Ltd. Thanks for your inputs!
There were PMs in Yahoo, Google Rediff and all the organisations in India 15 years back ( 2007). Most of them are in very senior leadership roles in leading Indian Internet earning 2-3 Cr + ESOPs worth double digit crores .
Lot of them retired or have started in their own as well
