What should be the compensation for 1-YOE as an APM in Blr?
I'm from a tier 1 college(IIT), and straight out of college I happen to be an APM with CTC around 9LPA, which is very low I feel according to some of my peers who come up with the same background as me. Given that my current company would only give a 10-15% hike, I cannot learn how to negotiate with the manager to get a decent one in the coming appraisal.
What according to you for an APM in Bangalore should have a salary range of 1YOE?

It's low. You can easily get 12-15 LPA He won't give you that huge hike. Start preparing for the switch.

Thanks for letting me know. Have started already preparing for that. I'm currently in a service-based company, so do you think product-based ones pay you more or the difference is negligible?

I don't know about service based but product based pays very well for product roles. Typically analysts take up these roles post 1-3 yrs of exp but if you can get it a good pay is there.

Sounds about right. But depends on the company.
But to be honest, jumping into apm role without any actual experience building products is a bad idea. Just my advice.
You'll become less of a builder, sometimes very bad decision making. I've seen this with folks.

I agree to your point. But, I have had previous experiences of product internships at my college, which helped me grabbed this role at the first place, and currently I have been doing great job in whatever things which are coming to my plate, I am in a small startup and lot of things are accountable on my head from running sprints, to translating requirements to devs, doing market research for product, usability testing, customer interviews, and to some context of being a part of product roadmaps. So to sum it all, I beleive I have a lot of potential and I feel I'm kinda underpaid.

You still need to be grounded speak to developers and designers more. You should be able to build pocs on your own, be data oriented.
You might feel underpaid due to the company you're in. You said it's a small company. So if you don't see growth in the company, you'll have to switch. But do look at personal growth as well.
