What’s the worst policy implemented In a company so far that you worked in?
Recently I forgot to bring ID card, I even raised a temporary access card on company portal. But guess what if your name is >15 characters they won’t be able to print it on a temporary id card(which a piece of paper not an actual plastic id).
So instead of correcting the printing format, very intelligent people came up with an approval process from an HR.
If HR is not available then Head of HR approval is needed irrespective of security team having validated your name in the system with a photo and identity credentials of government authorised identifying proofs provided.
Guess what I was waiting for a one word standing in a security room for 2 hours just to get into the premises for just one word “Approved”. Well guess what you just lost an employee who would have stayed loyal to a company irrespective of what hike or promotion they would receive.
I joined TCS based one only one principal factor. How you retain your employees no matter what the consequences are. I didn’t know it would come with a cost of employees being treated like crap.
I thought I would stay here for a very long time. But I don’t think so anymore.
