What’s Really Happening at TCS? An Unfiltered Look at the Current Situation
Things at TCS aren’t looking great — especially for freshers. A friend of mine, recently onboarded, has been struggling to get into a project. His RMG admitted there are no openings, and only internal contacts can help push allocations.
My project isn’t hiring either, so I shared his profile with others — but the response was discouraging:
Most teams are under a hiring freeze
Some members are being released
Teams are being asked to cut headcount by 10–15%
There’s also internal chatter (unconfirmed but from multiple reliable sources):
Employees on the bench for over 3 months are being let go
Those hitting the 35-day unallocated mark are being asked to resign
Experienced hiring is reportedly frozen across the board
If you're unallocated — fresher or experienced — it's a difficult phase. Stay proactive, build internal connections, and have a backup plan in place.

Hiring freeze - ok, at least bench will get opportunity.
Remove long time bench warmers - ok, they were rejecting projects and enjoying.
Release non billable allocated associates - ok, people were sitting on account level bench and were waiting for projects for months. Some got contract signed and started working while others were released.
Now the real problem starts.
Freshers - no experience, at mercy of projects.
Juniors - preferred by projects if skill matches. Otherwise they are in trouble.
Seniors - TCS thinks they are not needed. Projects don't prefer them. They are in a bad position.

So basically everybody is in danger
