Trending @Accenture; What’s next? Should I Resign?

Joined Accenture as a fresher in the 2022. After completing my Stream Training, I was allocated a project and I was there on project bench for entire 2023. I am currently working in a project for the past 5 months as an Automation Engineer. I currently make 50k+ including allowances and everything, so my CTC works out to be 7 Lakhs including VP.

I got no hike or promotion again, and I don’t want to work in automation anymore, I would rather look for some Spring opportunity which is my primary skill. Should I resign at this point because the 90 days notice period wont let me find a job in the current job market.

I joined in 2021, and my salary is 5.25L as the base salary . You are doing far better than a lot of others including the position of an Automation Engineer. I don't know why you want to resign. Stick with it.

I have few points,

  1. You joined as a fresher, which is good.
  2. Why would any company hire you with just actual 5 months of Automation experience. You would certainly mention 2 years and interview questions would be same. - This would not matter much if you are good to answer at the 2 year level.

My thoughts:

  1. Experience beats knowledge. Try to get experience first. Work extensively for another 7 months and then look to move.
  2. Market is not good right now.
  3. Automation technology would pay you well, think twice why you want to move.
  4. I think you are talking of Spring framework, correct me if wrong. Comparatively, Automation experience would have very good future prospects.
  5. Change your primary to Automation technology once 6 months are completed working on it.
  6. At the end, I can only suggest. It’s all yours to decide.
  • Do think twice and research well before you make any move during this time.
  • Just because of no hike, don’t put yourself into hard zone.
  • I continue to receive requests, at least 3-5 a month for any openings in my project.
  • None can stay in bench for long time as you experienced in 2023. Accenture is hiring lot of freshers, would be replaced easily.

If you like to move to another company, Place your resume and mention 45 days joining. Attend interviews and if you crack any, then resign here and continue to look for other companies offers.

  • I still couldn’t figure out what experience would you put in your resume.
