What kryptonite is to Superman… 90 days notice period is to Job Seekers

If they touch you too soon, they die. If you touch them too soon, you die.

I mean.. why should an ORG wait this long? right? Sure he/she will offer shop ..right?

90 days = Next candidate please = That's the general operating plan

so basically you are on .. 60 days of senseless waiting.. no calls.. so then you (as a candidate) have to lie.. that you notice period is 30 days just to get a call.. you think you will explain the notice period.. but then they ask about your notice period.. and then they call you out for lying and then you are put on spot.. AGAIN

soon.. you realise.. your notice period is ending.. and you don't have a job in hand... now when you reach out - they question your choices

• Why you left without an offer
• must be something wrong in the candidate soon you realise you are "too desperate" there is gap accumulating on your resume

So you start cooking up reasons to look genuine

• I'm taking a break for health reasons
• I needed time to upskill etc etc

soon you realise those reasons are not sticking.. so now you are contemplating if to take pay cut just not END the gap on your resume

You know why these folks are desperate, stuck as hell - cause NO ONE WAS F***ING hiring them in the first place.. But hey - as an org please please please still continue to want people to join immediately while proudly enforcing your own 90-day notice policy - For retention and knowledge transfer right?

Maybe the first thing the Indian recruitment scene needs to do - institutionally, centrally, unapologetically - is kill the 90-day notice period. But maybe its just me vying for that.

To everyone stuck in that 90-day hell: You are not lazy. You are not broken. You are not unworthy. You're just living in a system designed to delay you - then blame you for being delayed. Maybe you should stop playing fair from now on.
